Hippie Yoga is excited to introduce you to our newest teacher, Mistie. Many of you may have attended class with Mistie as she has been a part of the Hippie Yoga community for a couple of years, but you can read more of her yoga journey below. She will be teaching on Sunday mornings. Join her at 9 am for Hippie Basics and 10:30 am for Take it Easy starting in January.
“My yoga journey began over 23 years ago when I turned to yoga as a way to get back in shape after the birth of my second son. Back then, it was purely a form of exercise, I would fast-forward the DVD I used to the strengthening poses and skip right past Savasana! Over time, however, my practice evolved. In the past couple of years especially, I’ve come to embrace the full spectrum of benefits yoga offers, not just for the body, but for the mind and spirit as well.
Yoga has become my space to let go of the endless chatter in my mind, reconnect with myself, and find balance through breath and movement.
I recently completed Breathe For Change's 500-hour Wellness, SEL (Social-Emotional Learning), & Yoga Teacher Training—200 hours in 2023 and an additional 300 hours in late 2024. This program’s mission resonates deeply with me: to create a more peaceful and just world by empowering individuals to lead with love, support every learner, and build mindful, positive communities.
As a yoga instructor, I aim to offer inclusive, trauma-informed practices that honor your unique needs. My goal is to guide you in finding what feels right for your body, offering suggestions to help you access poses safely and meaningfully.
Whether you’re here to stretch, strengthen, or simply take a moment for yourself, I’m honored to be part of your yoga journey. Let’s explore what feels good and find balance together!”
