For February being the shortest month, it can feel like a long, cold, dark month. As the weather continues to be colder and the sun is just starting to be out longer, it can be hard to be motivated to move our bodies. But this is it the most important time to move.
Moving our bodies has many benefits particularly in the winter months.
· It can help with lessen seasonal depression.
· It can protect against illness.
· It helps ease joint pain and stiffness.
· It helps get your blood moving and keep you warm.
Any type of movement has these benefits. Of course I think yoga is one of the best ways to move your body and it has some added benefits like mindfulness, relaxation and community. Find fun ways to move your body this winter because it feels good and is good for you!
