Celebrating April with a Few of My Favorite Things

Since it’s the month of April, I thought it would be fun to celebrate with a few of my favorite things—starting with one of my favorite ways to use a yoga block.
I love using the block between my knees—it’s a simple little trick that makes a huge difference in how a pose feels and how my body engages. Here are three poses I use it in regularly:
Bridge Pose Squeezing the block as I lift my hips helps activate my inner thighs, stabilize my pelvis, and keep everything aligned.
Dead Bug Placing the block between my knees while doing any core engaging moves brings more activation, awareness and hip engagement.
Supine Spinal Twist Adding the block in a twist protects my low back by keeping my hips aligned. Having the block as support helps me relax into the pose a little more.
If you’re curious, try one (or all!) of these next time you’re on your mat. And if you’re in class and want help, just ask—I'd love to show you!
With peace and love,
💛 April
